Fox11, the Greater Green Bay Chamber, and the teachers’ families made surprise visits to their classrooms this afternoon. Tune into Fox11 tonight at 9 p.m. for a glimpse into today’s surprise visits. Mrs. Schmidt and Mrs. Kalishek will be honored alongside six other Golden Apple winners and Teachers of Distinction nominees throughout Northeast Wisconsin at the Golden Apple event on April 15, 2020. #TransformingTogether

HSSD Seniors Return to Their Elementary Schools in Caps and Gowns

The annual tradition of Senior Walks at our five elementary schools took place Tuesday, May 21. We are proud to celebrate our Huskies, Sailors, Timbertails, Panthers, and Bulldogs as they prepare to graduate in a few weeks. Thank you for taking time to wear your gaps and gowns to inspire our future Pirates where your journeys started.

Greater Green Bay Chamber Honors 11 HSSD 2019 Golden Apple Teachers of Distinction

The Greater Green Bay Chamber announced the 2019 Golden Apple Teachers of Distinction today. Congratulations to HSSD’s Teri Deavers (Bay View Middle School), Jessica Loritz (Bay Harbor Elementary), Victor Murphy (Suamico Elementary), Mary Swinford (Bay View Middle School), as well as the Lineville Intermediate School Band Team of  Andrew and Sue Zipperer, and the Forest Glen Elementary Kindergarten team of April Branstrom, Angela Hendrickson, Chelsea Levash, Katerina Schmidt, and Rose Sundin.

The four teachers and two teams will move on to the next level of the selection process and will be guests at the Golden Apple Awards April 17, 2019. Click here for the complete list.

HSSD Meets Expectations on State Accountability Report Cards

The Howard-Suamico School District meets expectations as defined in the Accountability Report Cards released to the public today by the Wisconsin Department of Instruction.

“We are pleased the district meets this measure as defined by the state report cards,” said Dr. Becky Walker, Assistant Superintendent of Academics and Innovation. “We are committed to continuous growth in learning for all students and we look forward to analyzing our data and trends.”

The Howard-Suamico School District will host its district-wide open house Wednesday, August 29, 2018. See below for locations and times.

HSSD Elementary Schools Receive Logo Updates

New Elementary Logos (1)

The five elementary schools of the Howard-Suamico School District have received updated logos to start the new school year. The designs incorporate an energetic, playful, and unified look among the schools while retaining the mascot nicknames (credit: designer Jacob Yahnke of Imaginasium Inc.). In addition to the updates at the elementary schools, Lineville Intermediate School and Bay View Middle will adopt the Pirate mascot and logo used by Bay Port High School begining this fall. As students come together at Lineville from the five elementary schools they will officially become Pirates for the duration of their journey in HSSD.

“While we are pleased to see our schools meeting this measure as defined by the state, we know there are multiple ways to demonstrate and celebrate the success stories of our students,” said Superintendent Damian LaCroix. “Ultimately today’s Accountability Report Cards are one data point among many that measure and affirm the achievements of our students in HSSD.”
