Child Find Screenings

Child Find is a continuous process of public awareness activities, screening and evaluation designed to locate, identify, and refer as early as possible all young children with disabilities and their families who are in need of an Early Intervention Program (Part C) or Early Childhood Special Education (Part B) services of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

Who should participate?

Staff from Brown County Birth-3 Program will be offering developmental screenings for children ages birth-3 who reside in Brown County.

Child Find Screenings are offered by Howard-Suamico staff to all 3 and 4 year old children that reside in the Howard-Suamico School District and have not had a previous screening. If your child has previously been screened by the district, but you still have concerns, please call 662-7881.

What can you expect?

· Children will be screened by a Brown County or school district professional educator using a formal screening tool.

· The 20-30 minute screening takes place in a play-based, child friendly environment.

· Screening results will be discussed with the parents.

We highly encourage all families with young children to attend this free informational opportunity!
