HSSD logo

The Howard-Suamico School District provides assurance that no student is discriminated against because of the student’s sex, race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, creed, pregnancy, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, or physical, mental, emotional, or learning disability.

The District is currently conducting a self-evaluation of its status of pupil nondiscrimination.  Residents of the community have an opportunity to provide comments in regard to the following areas of student activity:

  • Methods, practices, curriculum and materials used in instruction, counseling, and pupil assessment and testing.
  • Participation trends and patterns and school district support of athletic, extracurricular and recreational activities.
  • Trends and patterns in awarding scholarships and other forms of recognition and achievement provided or administered by the district.

If you wish to review a draft of the self-evaluation, or provide any comments, please contact:

Bay Port Senior Gabby Every Named Prudential Spirit of Community Award Distinguished Finalist

gabby every prudential award 2017

Gabby Every, a senior at Bay Port High School, was selected as one of Wisconsin’s top youth volunteers of 2017 by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program for honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism. Prudential representative James Lonick presented Every with an engraved bronze medallion and cited her accomplishments at the Howard-Suamico School District Board of Education meeting April 10.

Every served in a leadership role as the Wisconsin DECA Vice President of Community Service, during which time she established goals for the state organization in the areas of community engagement and involvement. Locally, Every worked with classmate Maggie Murphy to organize the “Bay Port vs. Cancer” fundraiser, pregame charity event at a Pirates home football game that raised more than $2,300 for the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer Fund. The event, which also aimed to support families in HSSD who had experienced cancer, featured two local students who survived the disease and were given the opportunity to run out on the field with the varsity players.
