The Wisconsin Association of School Business Officials selected Howard-Suamico School District Assistant Superintendent for Business Services, Betty Zimdars, as its 2015 School Business Official of the Year. The award was announced last week at the Wisconsin Association of School Boards state education convention in Milwaukee. Highlighted among numerous professional accomplishments during Zimdars’ 27-year career at the Howard-Suamico School District is an active streak of 15 consecutive years winning the Association of School Business Officials Meritorious Budget Award.
“Betty is a true ambassador for public education,” said Howard-Suamico Superintendent Damian LaCroix. “Navigating the sometimes unpredictable waters of public school finance requires foresight, creativity and a firm commitment to the District’s educational mission. Betty has devoted countless hours to the improvement of the Howard-Suamico School District and we are thrilled to see her recognized by her peers with this award.”
The selection includes a $500 award and a $1,500 scholarship to be presented in Zimdars’ name to a 2015 graduating senior of Bay Port High School.
